Jimmy Hutchinson operated Hutchinson's Clothing Store here until his death in 1955. Bill Stroup bought the store and renamed it Stroup's Department Store. Stroup's eventually occupied both this space and the one next door. The building is now home for the interior design firm and store Main and Gray.
